(RESEARCH) Analysing Title Sequences
The most common pattern used in film title opening sequences is:
Production Company Ident
Without the production company, there would be no money to fund the film, pay the actors, find locations etc They are at the peak of the hierarchy.
Distribution Company Ident
The company who promotes the film via print, media and internet.
Distribution Company in Title Sequence
Repetition of the distribution company shows their importance.
Production Company in Title Sequence
Repetition of the production company shows their importance.
Actor 1
Always a A-list actor, they;re put before the film title to attract the audience in as they are so known.
Actor 2
Always a A-list actor, they;re put before the film title to attract the audience in as they are so known.
Film Title
Actor 3,4,5 etc
This will usually be the lesser known actors as they are shown after the film title
Casting
The people who audition the actors for specific roles they want.
Costume
Music Superviser
The people who overlook the making of the film soundtrack and scores.
Music By
Editing By
Production Designer
Director of Photography
Executive Producers
Written By
Director
Usually the final name shown in the title sequence.
